[ for whatever reason, he's picking up on that nervousness, but it isn't making him fidgety. instead, all he does is hold her hands a bit firmer before letting his gaze drift back to his camera. there's still some really good light in here and— prompto blinks, tilting his head to look at ivy. ]

Um... [ wow, why isn't he saying anything? this is stupid. ] Yeah? I mean, if you want to.

[ which is dumb, and he feels dumb. so, he doesn't even think about what he does next, exhaling quietly and leaning forward so they're close. really, really close. super close. then, he's taking one of his hands to tuck some loose strands of ivy's hair behind her ear before ignoring how crazy anxious he is suddenly to press a soft kiss to the corner of her mouth. ]

[ she likes the feeling of him just holding her hands, reaching for her instead of the opposite. the camera momentarily forgotten, she holds her breath and waits for his response with a furrowed brow.

as soon as she gets the confirmation, ivy relaxes and leans forward to kiss him herself since he is already so, so close but. prompto takes the lead this time after her own quiet urging and she exhales in relief. a smile forms on her face when he kisses her and, playfully, she turns her head to kiss him back in full.

it's simple. easy. just enough pressure and just enough tenderness for him to know that she wants this. ]

[ kissing isn't exactly one of his many hangups, not when he's done it a handful of times throughout his rather lackluster high school career—which ended over two years ago. it's the kids sort of kissing though, and ivy fills him with an odd sense of something else. something more. she smells good, and her mouth is soft, the sort of thing he daydreams about because it's all he wants to fill his time with. and it's crazy how much he thinks about it all the time, shifting a little closer even as he tries to draw back for a breath. to really look at her. ]

That's... [ prompto can't get his tongue to work, and he leans into her so their foreheads rest together. ] I don't want you thinking I came here just for that.

[ it's embarrassing to say, he's blushing rather bright right now, but he does anyway. ]

[ with a soft smile and exhale, she squeezes his hands. this place moves fast but everything with prompto moves at a slightly slower pace because she doesn't want to mess up with him, wanting to be honest but not wanting him to see the cracks in her veneer; wanting to be herself, but not wanting him to be uncomfortable being around her. her heartbeat picks up its rhythm and she stills herself, not wanting to startle him away from her.

with closed eyes, she murmurs, ] I know. I wouldn't have minded if you did. [ sweetly, she nuzzles her nose against his. ] But I like that you didn't too.

[ they know what they're here for. everything they have done so far seems so innocent in nature even if she would probably admit to thinking about going further with him in the future, seeing where this road will take them. ivy would be lying if she said that more hadn't crossed her mind given that this is a dom and he is a sub. would he want to choose her? ]

[ ah... there's something about the sweetness of her words that causes him to melt inside, his pulse racing a little faster as he feels her breathe against his mouth and the slide of her nose against his. it's soft and warm, and he could probably stay like this for awhile, on his knees in front of her with all his focus on whatever's between them. instinct tells him to pull away and find some excuse to fumble with his camera, but there's something deeper that tells him to stay.

maybe they know why they're there. maybe this is supposed to happen. he just has to convince himself that all of this stuff with ivy isn't just some fluke or part of his imagination. ]

I like hangin' out with you, so I... [ how does he say it without it being weird? ] I dunno. I don't wanna ruin it like that. [ because he likes her, and though there's no way he has the courage to admit it right now, like this, it's his own way of confessing just a tiny bit of that. ] We've got time to figure it out, right? [ the stress of what he says doesn't hit him until well after it's out of his mouth. still, all he does is swallow around it and lean forward to press another small kiss to the corner of her mouth. ]

[ with most people, she would probably take that kiss and turn it into something more, dropping herself to her knees before him, climbing into his lap. she just wants to be wanted and she thinks that...

well, maybe some things are worth waiting for and it's worth slowing herself down because she doesn't want to risk losing this connection. there is a chance that this earnest, sweet thing can evolve into something more without ivy shoving things into place on her own. ]

We've got some time, [ she agrees, not wanting him to feel that couple-month pressure the administration has placed on every single one of them to make a choice. ivy releases his hands in favor of gently cupping his cheeks, thumbs brushing over the rise of a cheekbone and skimming over all those lovely freckles. her eyes are warm, a little more amber than brown in this light, when she looks back at him and kisses his nose. ]

No one's ever done that for me.

[ prompto is pretty sure he could keep kissing her forever. he wants to, but he also doesn't want to push it. or make it weird. all he'd come here for was pics, and he's only taken a few he could probably use. there's plenty of time (and light) left to take advantage of, but it all sort of melts away when she cups his face, the heat of her hands soaking into his skin. he closes his eyes at the kiss. ]

I, mmm– what? No one's ever done what for you?

[ there's a slow blink, drawing back to look at her.

had he stepped over a line he shouldn't have unintentionally? had he said the wrong thing? it wouldn't have been the first time, and it certainly isn't going to be the last. yet, prompto really wants ivy to not look at him in that sort of light, which is why he's always trying to be extra earnest and happy around her. (not that it takes much because she's really amazing, but...) he smiles slightly, making an effort to get her to open up more. ]

[ she follows that kiss on the nose with another quick kiss on his lips, something sweet to half-distract him from how she pauses for a few beats and tries to gather her thoughts with a lick of her lips. it isn't a truth she offers so easily but it is easy with prompto, laying bare some of her vulnerabilities well-hidden behind a glossy mask. ]

No one's considered slowing down for my sake.

[ ivy smiles sadly, closing her eyes as her thumbs continue their slow back and forth over his cheeks and jawline. ] Or been so careful with me, I guess. I know I can move fast. [ but it's nice to know that someone cares enough about her to even worry about how she might percieve his actions.

her eyes open again and she holds her breath, hoping that wasn't too much. ]
