[The worst case scenario is... far away. Noctis doesn't want to focus on that. Noctis will always want Prompto by his side, regardless of what happens between them now or in the future. And yes, figure out the fancy clothes because Noct will dress to impress this time and he won't hold back (it won't be a dress though, he's had enough of those).]

[ he's trying to take it easy in the sense that... noct must be serious about it since he asked first. that's all he has to keep in mind, deciding to go date casual rather than super sophisticated. a tie isn't really his thing, though he settles on a nice pair of skinny jeans and date-appropriate boots. his shirt – sleeveless as always – is lighter, tucked into the waistline, but he opts for a dark jacket on top of that to contrast, figuring he should at least look like he's going on a date. all of this is decided hours before their agreed meeting time, but it takes him much too long to fix his hair and calm his nerves.

still, he's around waiting for noct a few minutes before eight and trying not to look anxious. ]

[Prompto looks good, is what Noctis easily concludes when he comes into view. For a moment Noctis thought he was late, seeing he was wrestling which shirt to wear. In the end, he opted for his standard, black outfit, only instead of slacks, he has dark jeans. He's usually not a fancy place person, but he wanted them to hang out somewhere nice for once. And it's a date so yeah.

With a grin, he slips up behind him, peering over his shoulder-]

[Don't let the leisurely smile fool you. He's nervous but covering it up.]

[ somehow, prompto manages to not jump into the air when noct shows up. he also keeps himself from elbowing noct in the chest, sucking in a sharp breath and spinning around to face him, and a faint blush works across his face. noct looks... amazing. but if he's being honest, he'd always thought noct in anything remotely formal was always killer.

prompto tries to smile back. ]

H–hey. Sorry I got here so early. I was – [ he shrugs. ] Anyway, you ready?

[It's weird that everyone thinks that suits look good on him when Noct himself thinks they look so off. It's Prompto that's actually stealing the show here, and once Noctis manages (hopefully) to get him relaxed and laughing, people will be jealous he's in Prompto's company.]

'S fine. I got early here as well, couldn't sit in one place,[he admits, probably the same thoughts Prompto had.]

Yeah! I'm actually excited. Apparently, the fireworks are huge. Got us the best seats in the house.
