[ ivy's just returned from an outing, filling some quick obligations on her end. she has yet to find a job but isn't in any rush, fine with what she has been given for now. at some point, she'll have to incorporate routine but for now... she's enjoying it.

she changes her clothes again, putting on a soft tank dress dotted with faint red paisley. she waits for him to come to her door, admittedly antsy as she paces around her apartment barefooted and attempting to fix her hair though none of her braid attempts stay. ]

[ prompto's a rush of pent-up energy, though mostly because of his nerves, and by the time he makes it to ivy's place, he isn't entirely sure why he's even there. which is... sort of untrue. he knows why he said he wants to be, but also, there's something else sort of teetering on the edge. he doesn't want it to be awkward, so he smiles and lifts his camera to snap a candid of her the second she opens the door. ]

Hey. [ it's a sweet, casual greeting, unsure what to do with himself until she invites him in. ] There any places you think have the best light? We gotta have it to make 'em really nice. [ not that ivy needs any help looking beautiful. he's just talking because he does that when he's nervous. ]

Hi!

[ she reaches for his arm and just leaves her hair as is without any special styling, curling her fingers around his bicep to guide him into the living room where they last watched a movie together. the afternoon sun is still high in the sky, streaming through the tall windows of her apartment.

she still feels guilty that prompto has to stay in the down, but at least she can invite him as often as feasibly possible so that he can spend ample time up here. with her. ]

I like this lighting the best. I do some drawing in here even more than in my room.

[ he's still a little keyed up when she touches him, but it's a nice thing, expertly getting out of his shoes and tugging the camera bag he has with him over his shoulder. it's the same one from home, but the only thing that had been in it was the digital and enough SD cards to keep him busy for a good few months. prompto isn't going to tell her he's already taken a few snapshots of her here and there with his faux phone when she hadn't looking; it's just stuff to test the filters and things out with. (plus, he really does like looking at her...) ]

Yeah? [ no, he's not nervous!!! ] You should show me some time. I mean, if that's cool with you. [ no pressure, as always, and he sets the bag down to retrieve the camera, fiddling with the settings as he peeks around the room. ] Wanna sit? I'll get some of you like that first, and we can see what we think.

[ it's definitely not professional or anything, but it'll be fun. ]

[ ivy has always been a tactile sort, wanting the other person to know that they have her attention even just for a moment. she tries to look at people as if they're the only other person in the room with her. there is an added hop in her step when he steps further into her apartment. ]

I could. I'd like to.

[ it's said shyly for once and ivy doesn't linger on it either. one of these days she'll return that favor; after all, it's no surprise that she might be drawing a lot more freckles and tufts of blond hair these days.

she takes a seat next to one of the armrests, crossing her ankles and resting her elbow over the rest, chin in hand. her smile is casual, admittedly a little nervous because this now seems like a bit of a production though she knows that prompto would want to call it the opposite of that.

no one's ever asked her to be a subject before. ]

How this?

[ all he does is give her a smile like he gets it, and then... they're moving around to focus on this.

prompto has no idea why he hadn't thought to just do some simpler stuff. it's not like he's an expert, even if he really wishes he could do things like this professionally, but by the time ivy is settled and asking his opinion, he's pretty set on trying to get every short of her that he can. he takes a few experimental ones from a distance and decides he needs to be a lot closer to get anything good. the lighting isn't bad, but it's the angle he needs to work with. ]

You look really nice. [ it's out of his mouth before he can stop it and decides to just keep going. ] But you don't have to, um, you know. You don't have to smile like that. Just be casual.

[ and before he knows it, he's on his knees in front of the sofa taking closeups of her face rather than the length of her spread out on the cushions. ]

Oh – [ she brushes her fingers through her hair again and a faint blush forms on her cheeks because he's so focused. and honestly, he looks even better when he's doing what she thinks he likes the most. she wonders how long he has been involved with photography, but it just seems so natural, watching him with his camera move around her living room.

she shifts positions every so often, curling her legs up on the couch, settling bare feet on the floor, crossing her legs again. prompto kneels in front of her and she suddenly feels unsure about what to do with herself with the focus being on her face alone. her body has always been an important means of communication but the face gives away so much more. that's the point, isn't it?

she leans forward when there's a pause and, without thinking, she presses a kiss against his forehead. ]

[ he doesn't mean to embarrass her, and he wants to say something about it. yet, the way her skin pinks just a little is enough for him to focus on taking a few more pics of her like that. she's so beautiful, and he has no idea what she's even doing with someone like him. ivy is a thousand times out of his league. he's just had a lot of crazy lucky meeting her and spending time with her...

it's so much to think on that he gets distracted, losing himself in the angles and the flow of the way she moves without having to direct her too much. and honestly, even when he pauses, he doesn't expect the kiss. it causes his face to warm a little, and his fingers grip tightly at his camera, gaze fixed elsewhere even as he steals glances at her every now and then. ]

W–what was that for? [ not that he's complaining or anything because he's not. ]

I just wanted to.

[ ivy shrugs and leans forward, resting her elbows on her knees, her chin in her hands. it's easy for her, showing affection, touching him whenever she can but careful not to make him too uncomfortable. not everyone is cool with that much touch and she's trying to be more mindful of that.

she just likes him. a lot. it's hard to hide that sort of thing. ]

You looked really cute. I mean, it was really awesome seeing you so into it and I couldn't help myself. [ she pauses, wrinkling her brow. ] Was that okay?

[ did that come out wrong?

he isn't sure, and he finally sucks in a breath before looking at her, offering a slight smile. the touching isn't the thing he minds, not since they've gotten kind of close. for once, prompto just wants to enjoy the moment rather than overthink it, and he leans to set his camera beside her, reaching for her hands so he can hold them. lightly, he gives them a squeeze. ]

It was more than okay. I don't mind if you wanna do stuff like that sometimes. [ he's just going to ignore how that blush begins to crawl up his neck. ] Uh, you know. Whenever, I guess. It doesn't just have to be sometimes. It's totally cool. [ there's a shrug. ] And the camera loves you, so it's not like it was all that hard being into it.

[ she tries to laugh off the nervousness because she really, really does not want to mess things up with prompto. there is something there, something substantial that they can build upon in the time that they are here in this messed up game this city wants to play.

as far as she knows, he is the light to her dark. ( but if or when she learns what lingers beneath the surface, that he is just as broken as she is if not more, that could only make her care for him even further. it's not a feeling she has ever had before, wanting to look out for someone like this, but she isn't scared of it. ]

Can I kiss you again before we go back to the pictures?

[ for whatever reason, he's picking up on that nervousness, but it isn't making him fidgety. instead, all he does is hold her hands a bit firmer before letting his gaze drift back to his camera. there's still some really good light in here and— prompto blinks, tilting his head to look at ivy. ]

Um... [ wow, why isn't he saying anything? this is stupid. ] Yeah? I mean, if you want to.

[ which is dumb, and he feels dumb. so, he doesn't even think about what he does next, exhaling quietly and leaning forward so they're close. really, really close. super close. then, he's taking one of his hands to tuck some loose strands of ivy's hair behind her ear before ignoring how crazy anxious he is suddenly to press a soft kiss to the corner of her mouth. ]

[ she likes the feeling of him just holding her hands, reaching for her instead of the opposite. the camera momentarily forgotten, she holds her breath and waits for his response with a furrowed brow.

as soon as she gets the confirmation, ivy relaxes and leans forward to kiss him herself since he is already so, so close but. prompto takes the lead this time after her own quiet urging and she exhales in relief. a smile forms on her face when he kisses her and, playfully, she turns her head to kiss him back in full.

it's simple. easy. just enough pressure and just enough tenderness for him to know that she wants this. ]

[ kissing isn't exactly one of his many hangups, not when he's done it a handful of times throughout his rather lackluster high school career—which ended over two years ago. it's the kids sort of kissing though, and ivy fills him with an odd sense of something else. something more. she smells good, and her mouth is soft, the sort of thing he daydreams about because it's all he wants to fill his time with. and it's crazy how much he thinks about it all the time, shifting a little closer even as he tries to draw back for a breath. to really look at her. ]

That's... [ prompto can't get his tongue to work, and he leans into her so their foreheads rest together. ] I don't want you thinking I came here just for that.

[ it's embarrassing to say, he's blushing rather bright right now, but he does anyway. ]

[ with a soft smile and exhale, she squeezes his hands. this place moves fast but everything with prompto moves at a slightly slower pace because she doesn't want to mess up with him, wanting to be honest but not wanting him to see the cracks in her veneer; wanting to be herself, but not wanting him to be uncomfortable being around her. her heartbeat picks up its rhythm and she stills herself, not wanting to startle him away from her.

with closed eyes, she murmurs, ] I know. I wouldn't have minded if you did. [ sweetly, she nuzzles her nose against his. ] But I like that you didn't too.

[ they know what they're here for. everything they have done so far seems so innocent in nature even if she would probably admit to thinking about going further with him in the future, seeing where this road will take them. ivy would be lying if she said that more hadn't crossed her mind given that this is a dom and he is a sub. would he want to choose her? ]
