Those things were more likely than not just his friends, but Nero does feel as though the three months his boyfriend spent there without him put distance between them that he's subconsciously trying to make up. It's been on my mind a little. Not that stuff in particular, but how you might have, in that three months, gotten more experience or whatever. When I mentioned that I thought you changed, I didn't mean like..as a person. I just meant when we were together you seem more assertive and comfortable now, I just..thought that something like this would help me to catch up.

Which sounds crazy now that I have to reread it to myself.
